Where can I put the spatula? I want to put both the kettle and the biscuit jar on the side, pls, oh no, the toaster. It also does a brilliant job at reflecting the annoyance of having too much stuff and not enough space to comfortably fit it into your tiny bastard kitchen. The detail is amazing, to the point that you might even be able to recognise what some of the DVDs are. It's brilliant unpacking a bunch of clothes and finding a surprise toilet roll in the same box, and inferring that this is because there was a toilet roll on the desk or by the bed.Įach room is a very beautiful little diorama, and unpacking all the books and tiny cups and plates made me think of putting things away in a doll's house. A real joy, too, in seeing what comes out of the box next. There is a joy in seeing tape players get smaller, and the introduction of an iPhone and a big CRT computer screen. The first room is a child's bedroom, from around 1997, the second a first apartment or - my instinct - a student digs in the noughties. The game part is fitting in all the stuff you have in a way that makes sense. Once you've emptied a box it flatpacks itself out of existence. What you do is open moving boxes and take things out of them, and place them around the room. I and many others have been quietly cooing over the idea of Unpacking for a while, and this weekend a demo of the first two unpackenings came out, coinciding with PAX X EGX this week. Packing is hell, but Unpacking sort makes me want to move house so I can unpack. Unpacking does a very accurate representation of this, whilst also being a very satisfying and sweet game of Tetris-with-stuff. When you start unpacking these boxes, you get to enjoy being suddenly ambushed by a load of pants or a scented candle lurking in a box of plugs and batteries. At this point you shove everything into wherever it will fit and have a lot of boxes that say 'GENERAL' or 'STUFF'. The second stage is the panic stage, which is done anywhere from about a week from your moving date up to the second you hand your keys back. The majority of your clothes go into a suitcase. You put most of your books and DVDs in smaller boxes because they are very heavy. You slowly wrap up all but one of each piece of crockery in old wrapping paper and copies of The Metro, and put them in a box with KITCHEN written on the side. The first stage happens when you have loads of time before you have to leave, and is when you box things up in a way that makes sense. There are two stages of packing for a move, as everyone knows. (The 5GHz band offers much greater throughput but only at closer distances than 2.4GHz.) All iPad models, the Apple TV, and all Mac models released since 2006 can use either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. This is also true of a fairly large amount of newer equipment that supports 802.11n, but only for 2.4 GHz connections, which includes all iPhones and iPod touch models with 802.11n, many smartphone and handhelds, and even some newer computers. While the previous AirPort Express (2008) supported 802.11n networking, you had to make a choice to set the Express to use either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band available for 802.11n, not both at the same time (known as simultaneous dual-band).Īll older 802.11b and 802.11g gear can connect only using 2.4GHz channels. (While Lion can still use 5.6.0 to access features in all previous 802.11n base stations, those released from 2007 to 2011, 6.1 is absolutely required for the new Express, and Lion can’t use 5.6.1.)ĪirPort Utility: An AirPort Express can be connected wirelessly, indicated by the dotted line in AirPort Utility, to an existing network to provide fuller coverage. With Leopard and Snow Leopard, AirPort Utility 5.6.1 must be installed to configure an AirPort Express with Lion, the minimum version is now 6.1. Apple currently has two chains of utility software in Mac OS X to provide legacy support for features it removed in a software revision, but which are still available in hardware. While any Wi-Fi device may connect to an AirPort Express network, Apple only allows configuration via AirPort Utility, whether on iOS, Windows, or Mac OS X in Leopard, Snow Leopard, and Lion. NetSpot mapping program to help with that task.) As with all base stations, you may need to try out an Express, and even move it to different locations, to determine if it can cover the area you need. The Express compares favorably to two different models of Extreme in use in the same house. The new Express provided excellent signal strength across my 90-year-old house, which requires three base stations to cover its modest size due to materials in walls and the floor between the main story and basement that block signals. It’s extremely difficult to offer generically useful advice when testing the range for a base station, because every home and office varies in what blocks or reflects wireless signals. The team's new defense, dubbed the "Sack Pack", put on a show and recorded 12 sacks of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. They were also named honorary captains and watched the game from the Giants' sideline. The quartet attended many Giants games after they retired, but on September 30, 2007, the "Crunch Bunch" guys were introduced prior to the game and recognized for their contribution to Giants football. While there, they met and talked with former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn. The Crunch Bunch went to Puebla, Mexico, on October 26, 2004, to promote Habitat for Humanity and assist 3,000 volunteers who were building 150 houses. I can't really explain why but they're the only three I stay close with. Lawrence being the guy (he is), it didn't take long for him to fit right in and become one of the guys. But these three are probably the closest thing to them. Obviously, your brothers are your brothers. I feel as comfortable with (Carson, Kelley and Taylor) as I do with my brothers. They talked on the phone frequently and got together several times each year to play golf, sign autographs, attend charity events and just talk. The four men developed bonds of friendship that lasted long after their football careers ended. The Crunch Bunch was a bright spot for the otherwise dismal Giants, who had just one winning season between 19. According to an article in The New York Times, the profits from the $5 poster became “pocket money” for the Giants' linebackers. The linebackers invented their own moniker, then created a company, The Board of Dewreckers, whose sole product was a 16×20-inch color poster of the four players on a bulldozer, wearing hard hats and looking mean.
I actually had to turn the volume down because it was too loud, that's a good sign.ĮDIT 2: As /u/DuckOnBike pointed out, Logitech has updated their software. I'm not an expert or anything, but as far as I can tell the surround is working as it should, I can't tell the difference. Switched my audio controller to Razer, calibrated it in Razer Synapse, messed with the equalizer and various settings, and voila! The headset is plenty loud enough, and has 7.1 surround sound. Just out of curiosity, I tried the Razer Synapse program that I downloaded for my mouse, because it has a feature that lets you configure surround sound for Razer headsets, or any (cough cough) "stereo headset". I fought with the Realtek program and my Windows settings for a long time before I gave up. It gave me the option for 5.1, but the surround wasn't working. At first, I thought that the Realtek Audio on my PC was telling me that I couldn't configure the headset for surround sound by just plugging in the headphone jack. Ditch it completely, the Logitech software that you're supposed to use in conjunction with the USB adapter just doesn't cut the mustard. Apparently, the problem lies in the USB adapter that comes with the headset. I need the sound to be much, much, much louder.ĮDIT: I solved the problem. With everything cranked up to the highest settings, even with the master settings on the PC up way high, it's still not loud enough. Quality wise, the sound is fine, but the volume on the other hand is extremely tame. Everything is up to date, and I've done some experimenting with both the normal and advanced equalizer. I've updated the firmware, and downloaded the software. If you’re going to be using Illustrator frequently, the annual subscription is the best option. Secret Santa is a great idea for a big office. 11 November 2019 Funny Gifts for the Boss for Secret Santa Secret Santa The timber wolf starts choking as Spike pries Applejack's trapped hoof loose, and the two run away as the giant timber wolf falls apart from suffocation. He chucks one of the smaller rocks at the giant timber wolf, and it becomes lodged in the beast's windpipe. Applejack tells Spike to run, but Spike resolves to stay and save her. Applejack easily smashes the wolves again with a weighty rock, only to actually get stuck under a rock for real as the wolves transform into one giant timber wolf monster ready to devour her. But Spike sees right through their makeshift timber wolf puppet, until a pack of real timber wolves show up. The plan is to set up a fake puppet timber wolf attack where Applejack pretends to get her leg stuck between some rocks so Spike can free her. Now that she's brought up to speed, Twilight comes up with the solution: have Spike save Applejack's life from a timber wolf! Finally at the end of her rope, Applejack snaps Twilight out of her study-induced trance for help. She and the other ponies do everything they can to keep Spike preoccupied but they all backfire spectacularly-Spike easily tackles Rainbow Dash's "impossible" task of building a tower of rocks for her to smash through and Fluttershy's suggestion to tell him Applejack doesn't need help makes him find other ways to help her, from scratching her back to breathing. Applejack can't stand the messes Spike keeps making of things, but doesn't have the heart to make him think he's not a noble dragon. However, Twilight, due to being too wrapped up in her reading to pay attention to what Spike is saying, distractedly gives him permission to start his new life at Sweet Apple Acres.Īpplejack and Granny Smith are beyond surprised to hear that Twilight allowed him, and Spike, still committed to serving Applejack, proceeds to make a mess in the kitchen that Applejack and Granny Smith just got through cleaning, meaning he's free to "help" the Apple family forever. He returns to the library and explains to her that Applejack saved his life and that, according to his dragon code, he must now serve her for the rest of his life. Granny Smith mentions Twilight, and Spike comes to a realization: he has to "break the news" to her. Applejack once again tries to send Spike on his way, but the little dragon will hear none of it, explaining that his intent to help is part of his "Dragon Code" he owes his very life to Applejack. But as time goes by, Spike becomes ever more determined to assist, and as a result, large messes are made, which he quickly proves by clumsily causing more trouble than good. At first, Spike's services-while somewhat clumsy-are indeed helpful, as far as Applejack is concerned. She initially turns down his gesture, dismissing her actions as something friends do for each other, but agrees when Spike is insistent. But because Applejack saved his life, Spike insists on helping with Applejack's chores around Sweet Apple Acres. Spike clutches Applejack's mane in a warm hug, and Applejack then shrugs it off like it was nothing. rockets! Pow, pow, pow pow pow! You saved my life! You. Spike: Wow, Applejack! That was amazing! I mean, you rocketed those boulders at them like they were. The two then meet up again and Spike immensely thanks Applejack. Spike suddenly gets cornered, and just when he's about to be gobbled up the ravenous creatures, Applejack appears out of nowhere (meaning to investigate why the balloon is there) and smashes the timber wolves to pieces while Spike runs away. By the time Spike catches it, he finds himself deep in the Everfree Forest and chased by timber wolves. Bored, Spike wanders through Ponyville for a bit before deciding to take a ride in a hot-air-balloon, but accidentally sets the balloon loose and sends it floating away. Jumping at the chance to do the activities on his to-do list, but there aren't very many of them and quickly runs out of things to do. Applespike is the het ship between Applejack and Spike from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fandom. Players all contribute to one large drawing, but they cannot lift their pen during their contribution, requiring that whatever they draw be done with one continuous stroke. It's not that kind of stab."īack in January, ye olde Joystiq crew played Fibbage live on a stream with Heinrich himself. "We're planning more and more of this in our future games, but for now, we hope our first stab at this feature in Quiplash is a successful first stab, without anyone getting hurt. "Our goal is to keep making party games that everyone - and maybe someday, literally everyone - can play simply by pulling out their phones," Jackbox Editorial Director Steve Heinrich writes on the PlayStation Blog. Securing all of the available votes results in a "quiplash," which basically means that you're the raddest quipper in town. The more votes you get, the better your score. The game offers something like, "An inventive way to get rid of head lice," and two players type in whatever they think will score them the most votes from the audience (probably something funny). Maybe this ridiculous, 10,000-player humor game will help lead to a more globalized, connected and compassionate world or something.Īs for gameplay, Quiplash requires three to eight "core" players, while everyone else is the voting "audience." The core players go head-to-head, two people at a time, with a prompt and a blank slate. Previous Jackbox games allowed players to share codes in the same way, though only for up to 100 people at a time. It's rather unlikely that anyone will actually play a Quiplash game with 10,000 people, but it's nice knowing the option is there. This means that streamers can go live with the code and invite basically all of their Twitch viewers to join in on the fun. You don't need extra controllers or anything, and Quiplash is available now on Xbox One, PC, Mac, PlayStation 3 and PS4 for $10. Anyone who wants to play heads to on any internet-connected device, types in the code and viola. Here's how it works: One person fires up the game and a unique code appears on his or her screen. Quiplash is the newest game from Jackbox - makers of You Don't Know Jackand Fibbage - and it boasts a pretty cool feature: Just one person needs to own the game for up to 10,000 people to play in a single round. Most people haven't hosted a party for 10,000 guests (the bathroom situation alone is daunting), but thanks to the internet and Jackbox Games, that's now a super-easy, low-mess situation.
